Comments Thread For: Berto vs Malignaggi Very Premature, Says DiBella

The industry chatter on a potential fight between Andre Berto and Paulie Malignaggi is very premature, says promoter Lou DiBella to BoxingScene.com. Berto, the WBC welterweight champion, is currently in Haiti helping family and friends who were devastated by the recent earthquake. DiBella has not spoken with Berto regarding any potential opponents for his next fight. [Click Here To Read More]

I know some people would be intrigued but I can’t see Paulie making any noise (other than his mouth) at Welter.

Why is berto trying to clean out the light welter weight divison? First urango now paulie. He should fight a real welter weight maybe a margarito or a cintron would be better match ups

Bull**** matchup. I've been saying this for over a year, but some top tier WW needs to go ahead and take Berto's belt. I was hoping for a while that Judah would do it, because that is the only WW I see Berto making any effort to step in the ring against.

Paulie couldn’t crack at 140 I’d seriously doubt he crack any higher than that.

Side note: Saying “crack” and “higher” in the same sentence in mentioning Paulie is no coincidence.

I think in this case it might be more HBO wanting to put money into that fight than Berto going after Paulie.

                  ?? what?

Berto has probably the best handspeed of the division. He just doesn't use it very well like Mosley does.
