With Gamboa's defense becoming better over his last fights I say that the fight vs. John is a natural stylewise as well as sanctionwise (John is the real WBA champ).

Gamboa has so much advantage in terms of natural talents/athletics, he'll beat John clearly on points if not by late stoppage.

I would be more than happy to see this fight in June 2010...

Rigondeaux could become a player in the division in the future too, his last fight was at 126.

126 also has guys like Cristobal Cruz, Elio Rojas, Rocky Juarez, Jorge Solis, Daniel Ponce De Leon, Luevano, Concepcion and Jhonny Gonzalez to make things interesting. It's a packed division.

Yeah. I just edited my post to include guys I thought would be able to make things interesting in the division.

Right now I think John is on top but he could be going in a year or two, by that time it'll be either Lopez or Gamboa and Top Rank knows it, only a fight between the two will settle it. Would be a shame if Gamboa's weight difficulties catches up to him before then. Rigondeaux is the dark horse, if he really is ready for the big boys right now he would make a very interesting addition to the division.
