Any way congrat to Gamboa and Lopez lets see if they meet up in the summer.
Mtagwa came to fight, he just couldn't land ****. Gamboa was too fast, too slick and too powerful.

An awesome performance by both fighters, specially Gamboa. For me it was the first time I actully watch him fight, and I have to admit that this guy is for real. All I could think of while I was watching the fight was "hmm...this guy looks really calm, fighting smart and picking his spots". I'm really looking forward to see Juanma vs Gamboa...

Juanma is good he can fight inside and good with effective pressure he reminds me of a southpaw cotto but cotto has faster hands and another thing about juanma is that he's not fast and doesn't have the best defence and reflexes like Yuri!!! Yuri has crazy reflexes and is a speed demon and he can hit u before u even see it cuz he's a great counterpuncer reminds me of floyd check hooking wit he's lest when an opponent put he's right hand down and come rushing in bam u get caught but if they do fight juanma and Yuri in the near future hopefully this year Yuri is gona KO juanma cuz Yuri is way too fast for juanma!! Some people might disagree wit me saying juanma will break down Yuri but he is not gona stay in front of juanma he's gona keep turning him and as soon as juanma Leeds Yuri will counter and get a way and he'll keep doing this till juanma can't take anymore punishment...

I got no problem with that I have a lot of love for puerto rican fighters and I think Juanma will be a champ at 130 also. He is a very good fighter but I personally don't think he will do as well against top p4p fighters like cotto has done. The good thing for Juanma is there is no superstars at 126-135 Marquez and Vazquez have beaten the. prime out of each other and they are really old 122lbrs. Gamboa, Caballero, John, if he beats those three then we can start talking about him in different terms. He has very good power and technique for the weight but I see openings to get hit hard and a lack of hand speed. Only time will tell maybe ill be wrong.

The announce team didn't seem to catch this but if you look at Gamboa's first knockdown of Mtagwa you can see that he stepped on his foot as he landed the hook which is part of the reason he fell so awkwardly. I doubt it was on purpose, but it was still pretty slick. I think the ref should have let let Luevano go until another knockdown, the man was the champ (even if he was brought in as the opponent) and deserved the benifit of the doubt. The result would have likely been the same, but I still think the stoppage was a bit early.

gamboa looked great. i think his speed and power will be too much for juanma. juanma looked really slow against luevano. luevano put up a decent fight and slipped alot of those punches. neither has great defense, but with gamboa's speed, juanma will be open to too many punches.

Impressive fight for both. Juamma and Gamboa will be a fantastic fight. Looking forward to the match. I anticipate my fellow boricua proving me wrong but based on their respective performances, I think he is in some trouble with Gamboa.

for anyone that has seen many of gamboa's fights, you must know that he makes a lot of mistakes such as abandoning the jab at times and head hunting. He also has a bad habit of dropping his hands too much and also coming in wildly. He has gotten away with this to an extent against lesser opposition, but then again that's were most of the knockdowns that he has suffered came in. That's why he went back to his old ameteur trainer and they are trying to clean some of that stuff up. I do think he is a phenominal talent and he will be really great one day. I also know that those mistakes better not show up in there with juanma or it wll be a long night for gamboa. Lastly, if I was promoting these two guys I would keep them in seperate weight classes as long as possible and keep them out of the ring with each other. I really think Arum is all about Arum and not about advancing the careers of his fighters. This is just his quest for a new cash cow. Anyway I wish both of these fighters much sucess. They may both one day end up being hall of fame boxers(who knows?)

I have seem several of Gamboa's fights and agree with you that its the only way Juanma will be able to beat him is with his tactical skill. Although, Juanma was hit way too often during the fight. Gamboa's power is the great equalizer!

But to be honest, your ultimate point is well stated and more than likely going to occur. Arum is a greedy SOB and will maximize the earning potential of these two. Love or hate it but the old man truly has the game by the balls!!
