I think Mtagwa is get WAY too much credit..

I've seen maybe 3 or 4 of his fights, and I just don't see why there is so much praise for Mtagwa.

Who has he beaten? Usually guys with this kind of record have also had some pretty good upsets on their records, too. Just because JuanMa underestimated him and got rocked, he's now getting all of this credit to be the guy who will beat Gamboa? Please..

Gamboa has a shaky defense at times, but it will take a special fighter to beat him. Mtagwa isn't that guy.

Y'all can bump this after the fight.

I just think Gamboa is getting too much credit, he may win tonight but he is supposed to that is what this is all about so they can set up the Gamboa/JuanMa fight.

Everyone seems to be dazzled by his flashy style and it takes attention away from all of the flaws he has.

No. People tend to forget that Lopez was outworking him when he really got into it. He lapsed and got caught with a good punch near the end though. It was a good fight that could have been much easier for Lopez.

I'm sure he "almost beat those other 12 guys, too.

He was losing in most of the exchanges. He gets credit for landing a good punch.

But it's not enough evidence to say that he'll beat Gamboa.

He exposed little Tito for not being as good without his Tito wraps.

He's an extremely tough dude who comes to win every time. I don't think he has a fair shot at an upset because I think he's some brilliant underrated fighter, I just think he has some key components to make this a very demanding fight for the untested, green, sometimes reckless and possibly weak chinned Gamboa.

I must admit I overlooked the fact that Mtagwa was moving up in weight up until seeing someone mention it a few minutes ago though.

The way you phrase the title of your thread seems like you're not giving him any credit with his fight with Junama.
