Why do some NSBers worship fighters like Gods?

I'm not talking about regular fans of a fighter. I'm talking about the ones that will not accept any form of even the slightest criticism. The ones that are quick to make a 10 page debate if you don't look at them the way they do.

In reality, the fighters they worship would probably just laugh at the very thought of someone worshiping and defending them to such a degree.
