Luevano is a solid guys, he just needs to remember who he is

As i have watched this guy on various PPV undercards and smaller tv appearences, i respect this guy alot. Hes got good movement, a solid jab and generally shows good fundamentals. But like alot of people he can be suckered into trading needlessly and the problem is that he just doesnt have the power to keep someone off him for an entire fight. Id like to think tonight he should use his movement and try to use his jab and just be as technical as possible. He is the bigger man, but he should also try to clinch on the inside and stop Lopez momentum.

I like Lopez alot, infact i want him to win, but i like guys like Luevano, guys who hold their own, they dont have alot of power and dont have some huge fanbase and his style isnt always crowd pleasing, but hes what you call a great contender. BennyST made a thread in the history section about great contenders and i think Luevano even as a champ is one of those guys, i really wish him luck.

I like Luevano also, and a pretty good counter puncher also... he is counterpunching abilities is underrated...

The only thing about this fight that I don't like is that he was having trouble making weight... he is out growing the featherweight division. And, that he is not going to have his regular trainer in his corner... So he has stuff going against him going into the fight...

I suspect win/lose he will move up to 130...

He's a good boxer. He's just boring. He's got no power, no personality, and has an annoying face.

Plus he's too pasty for my liking.

      I thought Santiago beat him.

i suspect lopez will win, and i agree with luevano outgrowing the weight..i mean the guys like 5' 9'' right. He would fair better now at super feather. Mabey match him up with robert guerrero or chris john(if he decides to move up).

            I feel the same way.

I think Luevano is being over looked by many here. I'm not saying he'll win, but he's capable of making it a difficult and tedious night for Lopez.

Like jro, I have also read that making 126 has become difficult for him, and we know that Robert Garcia was with Viloria this weekend. Hopefully he's still able to perform well.
