Toney Might be Fighting Byrd for Real!!

Toney and Byrd might be fighting each other on July 23. I found an article at http://www.boxing-report.com Go check it out and see if you think James Toney is Fighting chris Byrd on July 23. I hope so! That would be awesome!

That would be a very good fight and a built in rivalry with both fighters being from Michigan. Put the fight in the Joe Louis Arena if that is the case and i bet the atmosphere would be raucous

Lets not get over excited. I just like to see conformation on stuff like this before discussing venues etc..

While both men are penciled in as fighting on that show vs TBA's, I wouldn't put money on them fighting one another. For one thing, Rachman vs Barrett is the main event. I just can't see a Toney - Byrd bout playing second fiddle to much of anything, especially THAT.

If both guys do und**** that night at The Garden, I expect it to be against two other opponents, perhaps as a prelude to a unification bout later in the year.
As for July 23rd, I have a feeling that we'll be seeing Davarryl Williamson & Larry Donald filling in those TBA spots. With Ray Austin another possibility.

Actually Byrd has 2 options more so then the other fighters. Byrd has legitmate heat with Toney and Klitschko...Both tasks would be a true test of a champion.
