Comments Thread For: McDonnell Shocks Napa; Sexton Socks Ahmed

By Jake Donovan - The up-and-down career of Ian “Dappa” Nappa once again takes a dip, as he landed on the wrong end of SKY Sports’ Fight Night’s first significant upset of the year.

Jamie McDonnell entered Friday’s contest at the Brentwood (Essex, UK) Centre as a near 2-1 underdog, despite his being eight years younger and seven inches taller than the 5’1” Nappa. In the end, it was McDonnell’s workrate and late round surge providing the margin of victory in an entertaining 12-round scrap that ended with the full-time plasterer from Doncaster escaping with a split decision. The sexton KO was brilliant in HD lol. But ive got to say that Ian Napa was robbed. On my card I had Napa winning 8 rounds to 4. I cant see how one judge scored it 117-112 for mcdonnell.

Napa-Mcdonnell 2 will definatley happen later this year.

Dave Paris is a terrible judge, he has done this a few times of late now. Nappa just edged it in my opinion by 2nds.
