& between the 2nd and 3rd round it was clear(at least to me) that Cotto wasn't paying attention to a word his corner had to say, not saying the fact he didn't have an actual trainer had too much to do with it but he truely needs to improve and to do so he needs a trainer that can guide him and he has faith in.
Just watched Cotto/Pacquiao again

Is hard to pay attention when your ****** trainer tells you "He has no left hand" then to you get KD by one. -

Cotto went in there with no regards to Pacquiao's power, He made the same mistake that Hatton made thinking Pac is a small guy who i would push around easily, He try to assert himself too much too soon instead of studying Pac for the first three rounds.Comment

If he would have fought the whole fight like the first round he could have won but once Pacquiao hit him with the uppercut combination in the second round he got all macho and got away from his gameplan. He wanted to prove he was the bigger man and that hurt him.Last edited by AnimalisticMeth; 01-22-2010, 01:10 PM.Comment

Actually if i recall i think he said something like "you've felt his left hand" meaning that he could take it. I'm not saying Cotto wouldn't have lost anyways but his corner might as well been just a cut man cause they weren't giving him any helpful information. Cotto is still a big name in boxing that people want to continue to see fight, but I would like him to get the proper help to improve his technique and defense, otherwise we'll see him get broken down again and again til it does serious damage.Comment
