GBP treats their fighters like he ****, he should of went to Top Rank where they would of taken their time with him and built him up with the public, and let him develop properly. GBP is going to try to cash out on him as quick as possible.

where did you find this information out? or are you just talking out of your ass again. top rank has a lot of the top fighters in the world so i doubt arum screws them too bad.

Thank God in heaven. I'm so tired of up and coming contenders I'm excited about signing with Top Rank then fighting 2 fights a year all on small independent PPVs against fringe contender after fringe contender. (See: Nonito Donaire, Peterson bro's and Yuriorkis Gamboa until tomorrow night)

I think if you were to ask a consensus of boxing writers via e-mail which promoters tend to take smaller percentages of the revenues the bigger promoters probably take smaller percentages on their biggest events. Small events are roughly equal for just about all promoters.

The biggest events in the US these days are generally done by either Golden Boy and Top Rank with the occasional exception of DiBella and Goosen-Tudor. But I've read many interviews on other sites where Golden Boy was agreed to have been the one that takes a smaller percentage of revenues than Top Rank. Part of that is because Golden Boy usually allows fighters to have more control over their own careers; which leads to some calls that they're more of a "booking agent" rather than a "real promoter."

A lot of people don't like Golden Boy's model because it's so decentralized. Image control is a problem. Look at how well Top Rank protects its fighter's images. It doesn't matter why Top Rank fighters don't sign for fights...it's never their fault. They're always tough guys. But, generally speaking of course, Golden Boy allows it's fighters more control, business interests and a higher percentage of revenues.

Again, a lot of old-timers don't like this. The notion that promoters work for the fighters is not popular, but it's central to Golden Boy's business model. That said, I have no idea what percentages Top Rank makes on Pacquiao, Lopez, Cotto, etc. Or what percentages Golden Boy will make on Khan, Alvarez, etc. I just know that in interviews and editorials I've read it's been generally agreed upon that Hopkins, Mosley, Hatton, etc. get an unusually large percentage of revenues on their fights.

Also thought he was going with Top Rank. GBP flexing lately.

But if he keeps developing and winning, he will be on HBO a lot. He's a white Mexican. Double score for the network. (No racism... just saying, he's like a demographic dream, lol. There's a lot of Mexican boxing fans and America loved Richie Cunningham.)

lmoa. so there were a few reports on a possible Mayweather vs Alvarez clash on some boxing websites, and NOW GBP is ready to sign him since his name has been touched with the "golden touch"?

they were trying to sign him before any Mayweather reports came out. go on youtube and watch his fights and press conferences in Mexico so you can see why GBP signed him.
