I think Zsolt just does this as his day job like everyone else.

I know its frowned upon in the sport not really care if ppl think you are a duck but if he doesn't want to be great, isn't saying that he is, and just fights for paydays then what I can I say?

You can't force someone to care about a boxing legacy if they just don't.

The funny thing is that Erdei probably could make 168 if he tried. He isn't that tall and he seems to keep a little extra weight on.

It amazes me that people are ****ting on him for dropping this belt. Then again I am sure they are ignorant of the circumstances.

Erdei was forced out of the LHW division by his own promotor who wanted Braehmer to have the belt because he is German and therefore much more profitable to a German audience.

Erdei had no business fighting as a Cruiserweight as he was the physically smallest champion at LHW standing under 6 ft and not even having to cut weight to make LHW. The fact that he won a Cruiserweight Title when guys like Dawson and Cloud who are much bigger and stronger remain at LHW is a hell of an accomplishment if you really look at the fact of the matter.

Erdei has petitioned for a ranking with the WBC instead of making an attempt to reclaim his old WBO title that will likely go vacant with Braehmer in jail.

His promotor doesn't give a **** about Erdei and that is why he never gets the good fights. The reason he fought Fragomeni is because they wanted to get Braehmer his title but also get Erdei a title shot they could cash out on.

Darius Michalezewski fought once for the Cruiserweight Title, won it, then vacated it an returned to a long career at LHW. It's hardly unprecedented.

It's hard to get big fights when your own promotor forces you to vacate a title so it can go to a fighter that he likes better. And then puts you in a weight class you don't belong in to try to cash out on a loss in a title fight.

Erdei is an undefeated 2 weight world champion with a 13-0 record in world title fights. His fight against Fragomeni deserves FOTY recognition, it was a war.

So you mean to tell me there is no way he could have fought Dawson, Adamek at 175, Cloud now.....or just anyone who could seriously beat him?

If he doesn't want to be the best then fine, just as long as he isn't saying that he is.

                I agree.

Erdei-Fragomeni was a great fight, and Zsolt showed tremendous heart to survive the last round.

I don't understand why some people bash him.

It wasn't even a FOTY candidate let alone FOTY.

It as a good fight but not excellent.

It's funny that people act like Dawson would fight Erdei. He wouldn't even seriously entertain an offer to fight Erdei much less sign a contract and get in the ring. Obviously it's not because he is afraid but because he can make more money fighting guys like Tarver and Johnson than fighting Erdei for nothing other than unification.

Also, as I said in the above post, which was probably too insightful for you to read, Erdei petitioned for a WBC ranking, not a WBO ranking. Which means he is ultimately aiming for WBC mandatory status and a fight against the Pascal-Dawson winner.

Once Erdei becomes mandatory Dawson will vacate and prove that it isn't Erdei who was avoided big fights but the Americans who don't want to risk fighting an Olmypic Silver Medalist with a 13-0 world title fight record for half of what they can get beating up ex-crackheads like Tarver.
