Can anyone explain why a Floyd Mayweather "vs" Shane Mosley fight has not been signed yet? With the unfortunate earthquake that has stricken the Haitian people, Andre Berto has rightfully pulled out of his scheduled bout against Mosley, leaving the door wide opened for Floyd to dance on through. But, this has not happened yet.
This is Floyd's chance to show the world that he is not afraid to fight worthy competition. This is his opportunity to silence many of his critics around the world. If his legacy means anything to him at all, then he should have signed a contract by now. After Floyd's convincing win over a blown up dehydrated Juan Manuel Marquez, Shane got on the mic on national television and called Floyd out. Anger ensued, and people started doing a little pushing and shoving. This was Shane's message to Floyd, and to all of boxing that he is tired of being ducked by him.
As I toured the sports bars in Jackson, MS I got more of the fans thoughts on Floyd Mayweather and a possible fight against "Sugar" Shane Mosley. Most of the people that I talked to didn't have a lot of nice things to say about Floyd Mayweather. It's obvious that due to the recent events with Pacquiao and Mayweather, and the steroid allegations, and blood testing, Mayweather's reputation has taken even more of a hit. I spoke with Todd Sizemore at the Sportsman's Lodge in Jackson, MS and he let his feelings be known, " This Floyd Mayweather dude is a joke. Anyone who has two cents in their head knows he ducked Pacquiao like a little girl. Now he has a chance to fight a great fighter in Shane Mosley, and so far nothing."
There is the strong possibility that Floyd Mayweather Jr just doesn't care about his legacy. It's possible that he's simply a money guy that only cares about the bank account, and not the legacy in the long run. It would after all explain his choice of opponents throughout his career. I asked another boxing fan, Keith Gray, for his thoughts on Mayweather and his choice of opponents, " Floyd is undefeated yes, but heck, if I lined up 30 guys that are half my weight, I better be undefeated against them too, or my friends will call me a little punk. Mayweather is all about the money, and none about the legacy, that's obvious."

If the trend of the every day street boxing fan is accurate, Floyd will go down as a fighter with skills that never tested them against worthy opponents. Perhaps if he takes the hundred dollar bills out of his ears for a second, he will hear Shane Mosley ****ing on his front door.
