Is floyd being undefeated good for boxing?

Is it better for floyd to lose his 0 or no?

I believe that 0 is what's keeping floyd from fighting the boxers he should be fighting with.

With him having 1 in the loss column, he wouldn't be that over-protective of his record and won't cherry pick as much. It will open up a lot of possible match ups for floyd.

I think it's great for boxing because he will create two huge folllowings with it: His fans that want him to preserve it and the people that want to see the upset and have him lose that 0.

His PPV numbers are evident that Floyd is good for boxing, whatever the reason may be.

It doesn't have the same affect as Mike Tyson's undefeated record before he lost. That dude had guys praying for their lives before they stepped in the ring with him. The way he was winning was creating a buzz around the sport that got casuals interested in watching the fight, itself. Floyd's buzz is centered more around the out of ring activity and circus that comes with a Floyd fight.

On one end its good for boxing, because like mentioned above, 2 kinds of people buying his ppv and you get to have a huge superstar undefeated best of the best type guy... on the other end its BAD for boxing because it makes the casual fan believe you have to be undefeated to be a great boxer/entertainer.... if you have more than a few losses its very unlikely you'll be a ppv draw unless you are on a huge ko streak... I hate to bring up the UFC cause i know you all get all panty bunched about it, but the biggest draws in the UFC have losses, people are more into the "can so and so beat so and so" or "I love the way this guy fights".... So these guys don't get protected as much as undefeated boxers do.
