Correction..
Wilfredo Gomez(exworld champ in three different weight classes & inducted in the hall of fame in 1995) was just as famous as Tito Trinidad(or probably even more) back in the 70 & early 80's...And is considered by many(including Me) here in Puerto Rico as the best champ the Island has ever had..Tito Trinidad is one of the best, but Gomez accomplishments tops Trinidad's..Gomez was part of Puerto Rico's olympian team and was a amateur world champion(Puerto Rico's first)& won that title by knocking out all of his oponents in 2 rounds or less, including the favorite at the time Cuban Luis Jorge Romero..As an amateur Trinidad didn't accomplish much..Plus Gomez has a record in 122lbs of 17 defenses all 17 by KO!..Gomez record was 44-3-1-42KO's when he retired..As of now Trinidad's record is 42-3-35KO's(& Trinidad's win against DeLaHoya is extremely questionable)....So far from what I've seen, I don't think Juanma will accomplish what both of these fighters have, even if he wins titles in 4 different weight classes..At 122lbs Juanma impressively knocked out tuff Mexican Daniel Ponce De Leon in the 1st round but didn't impress at all when he defended his title against 4 bums(which he almost lost to one of them-->MtaGwa) & 1 mummy from a lower weight class-->Peņalosa..It would have been different if he would had unified titles against the best in the division which was Panamanian Celestino Caballero, but instead Juanma & his team wasted time minimizing Caballero and avoiding fighting him..That type of attitude will not make him great fighter...
