BoxingScene.com was advised by Freddie Roach, trainer of WBA junior welterweight champion Amir Khan, that a fight with Juan Manuel Marquez is on the table. Contrary to widespread media reports, Roach says there is no set agreement to fight mandatory Marcos Maidana. In fact, Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer told BoxingScene on Monday that he simply postponed the WBA's mandated purse bid for another two weeks to give himself additional time to reach an agreement between Khan and Maidana, who are both under the Golden Boy banner.

Khan/Marquez would make more sense at the current time. Although I like Khan, I don't believe he is ready for a ****er like Maidana.

Khan will learn alot from being in the ring with someone like Marquez. I think it's a good fight for a young fighter. It's winnable but still challenging. Marquez found a way to counteract Pacquiaos speed so he may be able to do the same with Khan.

Btw I would love to see freddie kick Malignaggi's ass. Infact i'd love to see anybody kick his ass!

Marquez is better than Maidana, but doesn't hit so hard. Why is Roach so scared for? Maidana is a ****er but he hasn't got skills as good as Khan. Khan looks much better than when he got KO'D in his boxing game and chin.

Roach is afraid Khan's glass chin would shatter again upon impact with Maidana's fists. They are trying to sucker Maidana into giving them a pass and hoping he loses to some slick boxer in the interim so that Khan never has to fight him.

When that ***** Khan stops taking on old, small and shot fighters from lower weight divisions that will be the day people give him a little respect.
