there is also a positive sentence that can be made with both of the names, like: Khan has beaten (TKO'd) Ortiz in the amateurs.

Roach has mentioned that Khan is not ready to fight a fighter like Maidana.

This is a huge gamble for Khan it could make him or break him to be called great fighter to be called overrated and protected fighter.

If he's not ready to fight his mandatory then he should vacate the belt.

That article (and many similar ones) is just based on the news article on the WBA's website (here) which was reported on boxingscene more than a day ago (here). But so far there has been no confirmation from the fighters themselves, or from the promoters, although the WBA's article has been out for more than 24 hours now. So although it looks likely that the fight will happen, I wouldn't take it for granted that it's a done deal, because GPB would have said something about it by now if it was.

Roach said nothing of the sort. He said Khan will outbox Maidana and that he's ready for him now. He said he has no problems fighting Maidana. He did say that it's a very dangerous fight for Khan, and he said that he'd like it to be built up first, in order to make it a bigger fight commercially, but he said Khan will win, whenever they fight. His actual words were:

"We just fought a mandatory and I feel that we should be able to fight one fight before [Maidana] ... I have no problems fighting Maidana because I think Amir can outbox him. I know it's a dangerous, dangerous fight, but I have not suggested that he drops his belt and gives that up ... if we end up having to fight him right now, I think that's a shame because I think that's a fight that can be built up into a really, really big fight ... The thing is, in America, neither guy is really well-known. I mean, Amir's gotten a little bit of attention over here, but he still hasn't had his debut in America yet, ... I was hoping to go in a different direction after we did just fight our mandatory against Salita. I was looking to Malignaggi next and then Maidana after that."

This fight is NOT ON. Golden Boy promotes both guys and said the FIGHT IS NOT ON. Roach is on the main page and said the fight is NOT ON. Schaefer said on the main page Monday the fight is NOT ON. None of the websites talk to anyone or do any fact checking. They just print whatever.

Khan is definitely the better and faster boxer. Thing is, he can't match Maidana on the inside. Nor does he have enough legs and mobility to elude him the whole fight. At some point, he will have to stand and fight. When he does, it will be lights out for Amir.

Let's walk the talk. 250K says Maidana got this. Takers?

Khan is ducking Maidana, as was expected by many.

He'll likely fight another older, past-prime fighter from a smaller weight division like Barrera (maybe Morales or JM Marquez) or another mediocre opponent like Salita.
