Comments Thread For: Steward Talks Klitschko vs. Chambers, Haye vs. Ruiz

In the next week or so, trainer Emanuel Steward will start camp with WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko for the March 20 title defense against Eddie Chambers. Steward doesn't usually need a very long Klitschko. He tells BoxingScene.com "Wladimir trains all the time and keeps himself in shape. We will probably start in another week." lol

Bad arguement against klitschko given that he holds so many belts...
Thats like saying wake me up when Roy fights someone who is not a can, but mean while the truth is Roy made them look like cans, and klitschko takes away others power punches and forces them into shells.

I can take it that you mean that you have been asleep since before Klitschko fought Samuel Peter??

Well said, Ruiz is good just chinney. Now Vitali needs to schedule a fight in April to be ready for the Ruiz vs Haye winner.

the simple truth is that the klitschko brothers jab so much that their opponents dont often get a chance to go on the offensive. i consider this to be great fundamental boxing . I can look at some of my favorite fighters like Berto, RJJ, and PBF and imagine how much better they could or could have been if they were as commited to the jab as these guys. whether we consider they're styles boring or not they are great defensive and offensive fighters, it may not be crowd pleasing here in the US ,but it is highly effective. Sam Peter = exciting HW, Arreola= exciting HW, Rahman= exciting HW(although shot),Mike Tyson etc.etc. I think at the end of the day: wins/losses matter a lot more in the sport of boxing than style points.

Looking forward to watching Wlad start the year off against a very game opponent. Hopefully he stays healthy and can fight 3 times in 2010...

Yes, he takes it away by grabbing them and holding them around the neck when they get close. Best way to beat Wlad is to brawl, like Sanders did. With that said, I hope Chambers finds another way, because he isn't no brawler.

I'm looking forward to watching this game opponent maybe turn out to be much more than just "game". I hope Wlad doesn't have belts to defend in his 2nd and 3rd fights in 2010. If Chambers doesn't put an end to his reing, Haye will.
