    very good post. worth reading.

as a fan of the sport, I liked Manny because he was exciting to watch.
the accusation could have been quickly silenced and put to rest if Manny would have just taken the random testing, Floyd was to do the same.

but his refusal is what really started the tainting of his accomplishments, and the su****ion grew

sad for Manny and sad for the sport

It would not have been so bad if athletes had never been caught even once in the past. Manny would have a strong case to refuse any test.

Hell, no one would have known Shane was on anything until he was forced to testify and admit he did take something.

Unfortunately, the sad truth is the best performing athletes will have a cloud over their heads because some other athletes thought cheating the system was a good idea.

If Manny Pacquaio does not wear blinders like the carriage horses who clip clop around Central Park, then he can see how Americans of all descriptions are looking at him differently now, with a jaundiced eye.

Like I say I don’t think Pacman is deaf or dumb so he must know what the “man in the street” thinks when he hears his name or sees him.

Cheater, drug user, not the marvelous fighter that he’s been billed as.

Pacquiao is damaged goods, friends, and whether he has been unjustly accused or not, some of that damage is irreversible.

If it ever comes out that Pacquiao did use EPO or HGH or any other banned substance, then his whole career goes into the trash bin of history.

If that happens, and I hope it doesn’t, then how could be any more well regarded than baseball’s growing band of outcasts, Mark McGwire, Roger Clemens, Barry Bonds and all the rest?

His critics, jealous of his success no doubt, have painted Pacman with a broad brush.

(See Filipino Sports guru Guillermo on emphasizing that his first name is Manny, not Money, and that the Pinoy Idol has all the facts on his side.)

(For a somewhat different take, see Rick Rockwell's questioning of Sugar Shane Mosley hinting that Manny plays dirty.)

Whether it has also been a false brush, we may never know.

The masses read the headlines, the splashy banners, and pay no attention to such small details as Pacquiao passing, what is it now, 11 successive Nevada drug tests.

In some people’s eyes, the accusations equal the conviction.

Megamanny can pass 101 blood or urine drug tests, it will never be enough.

They will say the drug tests were given at the wrong time or that they were inadequate to catch drug use which can be masked.

They will say, well, he cheated in the past and only now is he playing fair.

The latest idiocy comes Sugar Shane Mosley, usually a gentleman and an admitted steroid user. Mosley calls Pacquiao “su****ious.”

This is the same Shane who wants us to think that he got “tricked” into using EPO and other banned substances. The same Shane who used "the clear" and "the cream" to beat Oscar de la Hoya.

Did he think "the cream" was ice cream, chocolate chip perhaps?

You might think a guy who claims to be falsely accused of knowingly using banned drugs would be more sensitive than to turn around and throw some unproven dirt on a colleague.

Then again, Mosley is not to be confused with a Rhodes scholar.

Permanent cloud hovered over Lil Abner comic strip character Joe Bftlspk (Created by Al Capp)

I want to know this, who was the clever trickster who put a gun to his head and brought to the BALCO Laboratory in the Bay Area?

Did the so naïve Mosley think BALCO was a place where they made hot dogs to be sold at Giants and Athletics baseball games?

No lawsuit will return Pacquiao’s good name. You can’t put a monetary value on his reputation prior to the accusations.

Pacman is now Joe Bftlspk, the Lil Abner comic strip character who constantly has a black cloud over his head.

“Liars go to hell,” Pacquiao said, defiantly.

I understand his anger. I understand his pain.

But, in the American public’s eye, he will never look the same.

They had to flagrantly foul him to do it but this fight is over.

        Manny Pacquiao, alleged cheater.

        Manny Pacquiao, damaged goods.

No magic wand can be waved to get him back his nearly pristine reputation.

        They say that God forgives.

If Pacquiao can’t bring himself to do the same, I say only this, can you blame him?

They’ve taken the Pinoy Idol down with cheap shots, nothing else.

That’s it, on the real side.

SO LETS START COUNTING THOSE WHO IS INTELLIGENT ENOUGH & ****** IN THIS THREAD..

Pac passed the 11 consecutive test conducted by the americans...

        So Pacfans it starts here....
Last Time I looked we live in America not the Pillapeins and if we go after our own homegrown athletes for BEING CHEATS do you think we really care about a 3 world Cheat!!!! Hopefully WHITE AMERICA= THE MEDIA throws the book at the Bootlegg Bruce lee.

Now there are some that were fans, as evident in these forums, but many believe because its coming from the Mayweathers, the accusations don't hold much weight. Anyways, at the end of the day, who are we to persecute anybody until all the facts come out. All this bs is doing nothing but hurting boxing. Dana White and the MMA die-hards are laughing in our faces right now.
I hear what you are saying and all that but but Cross him out and place an asterik by the Pinoy cheat, The Mayweathers have been *******s in the past but they have done more for boxing than the damn Pillapeins

Most of my family knows boxing.

When they heard the Steroid stuff was coming from the Mayweather's they knew it was all bull****.

The Mayweather's are good at only two things, bull**** and Boxing.

          Everyone should know that.

Hell it took Mark McGuire how many years before he admitted he was on steroids this year. Boxing will suffer a huge setback if Pacquiao admits he did roids years later too. However, having said that, steroid testing should be further enhanced by NSAC to accommodate requests such as blood testing (however ridiculous it may sound). But in today's modern medical technology (they're the ones who run the laboratories) why would the Mayweather camp resort to such archaic tests? We'll never know for sure. Unless we're all Medical Technologists.
