for example both Hopkins and Jones agreed to the rematch long before their press tour started (this coming week)

so as long as both parties involved have stated the papers have been signed we now have whats called a bout agreement which is basically an agreement to fight _____ opponent, on ______ date, at ______ venue, for _____ in purse.

bout agreements are pretty solid indicators that a fight is a done deal
