Will the boxing world,(not *******s) give floyd credit for beating a 40year old shane

im just wondering if floyd will still get credit for this from the boxing world? as in critics etc.. i for one will give him props and ill see it as one of his best wins imo.

The reason im wondering this is because i see so much discredit for fighters who have good wins. For example: floyd came in 3 pounds to heavy, manny weight drains all his opponents. drug and pain killer claims.

i also do know the fight is not signed and i do know floyd might not win...

Shane might be the #1 welter (really Pac is the #1 welter), but Pac is p4p #1 in the world. Shane is past his prime but a damn good fighter.

I'll give him credit if he wins but I'm still gonna think he's a douche bag no matter what.

Simple commonsense can give you a very accurate answer.

Mosley is expected to lose due to his age. Mayweather will therefore be judged by how badly he beats him. If he wins very magnificently then he will get a lot of credit. If he wins in a regular but convincing fashion the effect would probably be neutral. If he just squeaks by a narrow victory, he won't be damaged but he would definitely be questioned. Heaven forbid if he loses.

It's like stocks. When people expect a $3 per share profit from Google but the actual profit was only $2.40 then the stock would probably go down on "disappointing earnings". If instead the announced earnings are an unexpected $4.00 per share then the stock would skyrocket.

From what I have seen in the media so far, he will get plenty of earned respect. The normal fans go by what the media tells them. They swing things certain ways. Looks like there favoring Mayweather.

The 40y old man is the man to beat at 147. So why not?

How did pacquiao get #1 in 147? Shane beat the then number 1 Margarito, and Pacquiao beating a past prime Cotto at a catchweight doesnt change that fact.

He's the no 1. Welterweight. Can't deny that. But looking back at it people will say Shane was past it (Which he is) I for one will give May props if he beats Shane.
