    mosley, being shortchanged by gbp???

SUGAR SHANE MOSLEY: WHAT'S WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE?
    By G. Leon

Shame on everyone...again. Instead of scrapping their January 30th telecast, HBO should have afforded future hall of famer and current WBA welterweight champion Sugar Shane Mosley a last minute replacement to ensure that he fought on January 30. It would have been easy to find somebody passable for a small fraction of the $1.6M+ Berto was slated to receive and Mosley looking good on HBO months before a potential Mayweather fight only assists in the promotion. Mosley's reward for beating Antonio Margarito as easily as he did should not be a 16 month layoff to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. The situation gets more difficult to stomach when you consider that Mosley, who is backed by a powerful promotional company he is a partner in, will now likely have to watch Antonio Margarito's return following a year suspension before he gets the chance to capitalize off of that victory. De****able.
does anyone share the same sentiment as the writer qouted above???

is shane really missing out a lot with the way gbp is managing his career?

does anyone find it also weird that margarito, after being mauled by mosley and after being banned by a year because of an incident relating the use of plaster of paris, will be fightin ahead of shane?

    your thoughts gents.......

My thoughts are that two weeks is not a lot of time to find a respectable replacement. Also, Mosley wants big money fights which has contributed to his inactivity. If he gets the Mayweather fight the wait was worth it. With that said, I don't agree with anything the writer put out there.

i agree.. Mosely could care less how inactive he was as long as he could get a fight with Floyd.. hate to break it to ya.. but Boxers dont care about activity anymore.. they could care less about belts either.. its a buisness.. if it doesnt make dollars it doesnt make sense..

Too bad you take for granted what Greg Leon says. You have yet to understand that Greg is on a personal mission tro destroy Mayweather (did Money steal Greg's wife?). How can you explain Greg's raving articles and comments about Mayweather not so long ago and his more than sudden dislike of the same guy. I'm a May fan but to read Greg's post about May he could do no wrong, was the best ever, etc..., which used to infuriate me. Now the guy is a coward, broke, name it Greg will give you "inside" information confirming whatever you think of May. Some time ago he couldn't stomach Arum, now they're best pals and BT is the new place for Arum's PR.

            Moroans have short memories

Shane, HBO and plain old bad luck are to blame for his long layoff. Shane decided to press Pacman and Mayweather for a fight when he knew that there was no way that either fighter would fight him with the other two fighters wanting to fight each other for highier paydays. Shane could have fought in April or May of last year but he decided to sit out when he heard that Mayweather was coming out of retirement. And then when Shane decided to fight someone else, he was offered a December 5th fight against Clottey/Berto that was pushed back to December 26th, when the Williams vs Pavlik fight was postponed from October to December 5th, that ultimately never happened because Pavlik pulled out twice against Williams. Then HBO resorted to pulling the December 26th date that Shane had locked up against Clottey and then offered him the January 30th fight against Berto. And then of course the earthquake in HAITI has caused Berto to pull out of the January 30th date. So Shane, HBO and bad luck are to blame for the 16th month layoff. I dont think that Golden Boy promotions have anything to do with any of the scenarios that didnt pan out. HBO assigns the dates, Earthquakes are products of nature or HAARP. I do believe that Shane should fight a tuneup before he faces Mayweather. A 16 month layoff is not good going into a fight to decide the best p4p fighter..

That journalist must have forgot that Shane Mosley said he didnt care how long he had to wait for a big money fight like Mayweather and Pacquiao. It was all Mosley.
