When fighters sit at the table to negotiate a fight it is rarely on equal terms, which is why there are not standard contracts in boxing. If you want to fight Oscar you are looking at 25%, if you want to fight Calzaghe it is going to be in England etc.

Both fighters and commissions implement rules and regulations. For example, fighters/managers/promoters decide what weight the fight will be held at (sometimes catchweights for fighters moving up and down in divisions), what size the gloves will be (e****ially important when dealing with fights in between weights), sometimes fighters even restrict the type of gloves that can be used.

Fighters determine a pentaly for if a fighter comes overweight (like Manny did against Floyd) and some fighters will request certain kinda of drug testing (Arthur Abraham does this for every fight).

so ur saying if 2 boxers agree (met negotiation) to have no drug testing at all, extend the fight to 17 rounds with a 10 minute break in between, the comission cant interfere with that?

from what ive known, catch-weight, title or non-title fight, venue, purse split and glove size is the only negotiating terms granted to fighters and promoters.

Exactly. The special stipulations in the contracts (rematch clauses, ring size, TESTING lol, etc..) is brought up by the fighters and/or their promoters.

We all know why you made this thread, and I am just gonna tell you: the whole "Let the commission decide" argument is THE WORST ONE out there, imo. If the only reason for why Pac didn't accept testing and turned the fight down is because it wasn't a commission order, then it makes even less sense. You are telling me that he walked away from it all just because it was a request from Team Mayweather and not the NSAC? Get the fuck outta here.. Even YOU don't believe that, TS.

CERTAIN THINGS are apart of the common rules held by most commisions. But a lot of things can be tweaked.

And "from what you've known", you haven't seen any precedents. But there have been. Arthur Abraham's handlers have put additional testing in the clauses for many of their fights, as well as other fighters under the same promotional company. So YEAH... Testing has in fact been implemented separately from Commisions.

Funny how that works but a boxer could get that same commission to sanction a supposely 147 title fight at 145!!! Its called a contract.
