Comments Thread For: Roach Agrees, Pacquiao's Workrate Will Beat Clottey

Freddie Roach, trainer of Manny Pacquiao, agrees with Top Rank's Bob Arum on the workrate factor. He says Pacquiao's workrate will be the key to victory against foprmer welterweight champion Joshua Clottey on March 13 at Cowboys Stadium in Texas. He doesn't think Clottey is active enough. Clottey's activity was an issue in his fight against Miguel Cotto. He had Cotto in a lot of trouble during the fight; yet he let the win get away by not throwing enough in the final few rounds. Agreed, i know Arum wishes he just took the Mayweather fight as Pac vs Clottey is just an after thought in the wake of Mayweather vs Mosley. I know he's sending thank you cards to GBP for saving his ass and not making M vs M on March 13th also.

It could be more competitive, it very well may not since floyd is younger, quicker, and has better defense. The fight will most likely be pretty boring, I am going to watch it because I want to see who wins, though if floyd loses, than he really is not as good as cotto or clottey and that would really mean he is a complete fraud. There is no doubt in my mind that pac - clottey will be the more exciting and entertaining.

You guys all realize that clottey would possibly beat mosley. he did better against cotto than mosley did. clottey is not a B fighter. mosley lost to winky , forrest and cotto. all very good opponents, but if floyd is really supposed to be a p4p best than he should outbox him like those guys did.

Yeah, true boxing fans only care to watch one fight a year. And Clotty is a bum. He's got, what, 3 losses? Against fellow bums too.. SD against Cotto, decision loss to Margarito (I don't give a **** that he had a broken hand), and a DQ in a fight he was "winning" against Baldomir, who is incidentally the great champion who the messiah Floyd dethroned.

Real fighters have no losses, regardless of whether or not they actually fight anyone. This is why Floyd is the greatest ever.

Before everyone celebrates about Floydie vs Sugaroid...
Wait til the contract is signed and they already agreed to everything.
Besides, it won't be happening on March 13... they are talking about the month of May.

Let's just wait for another out of this world demand from Floydie to avoid Sugaroid... Hahahaha!
How old is Sugaroid now? 38, 39 years old? Hmmm... so, who is fighting old boxers now?
                    Hahahaha!
