There is a lot of talk of matching IBF bantamweight titlist Yonnhy Perez versus the talented, young Abner Mares. It would lead off the May 22nd broadcast that features the fourth installment of Israel Vazquez-Rafael Marquez at the Staples Center. That would be a fantastic doubleheader

I'm going to this card. As soon as tickets are announced, i'm there.

But as much as I like Abner Mares, throwing him in w/ Perez seems worse than throwing Ortiz against Maidana.

I think Yonnhy runs away with it.

how many years has it been though? this guy has been a prospect for 5 years at this point, they cant shelter him forever, especially since hes in a division with a sshort shelf life.

That's what I'm saying, I'm glad Golden Boy ain't just feeding him softies. Just look at Chavez Jr or Vanes, Top Rank ain't putting those guys in tough any time soon.

Tough fight, but Im a pretty big believer in Abner Mares. People around him have been talking about how great he is gonna be since forever, they seem to have a lot of faith in him. If hes gonna step up and become something its getting time.
