When was the first time Mosley vs Mayweather supposed to go down?

It's been years and apparently, people on both sides still talk about why this fight didn't go down years ago. Mosley is definitely a fighter that any welterweight shouldn't sleep on, but is often overlooked by both the media and fans. I just want to know, anybody remember how this "feud" between Mayweather and Mosley first started?

I'm hoping negotiations go well and these two champs will finally get to duke it out.

I think it was first talked about around 1999-2000 when Mayweather was at 130 and Mosley at 135.

Floyd challanged him in 99. Im not one of those though who always talk about this guy was scared or whatever. I think both guys had legitimate reasons for not taking the fights when it was asked but people always feel the need on here to say someone ducked the other. I think its e****ally dumb when one guy calls someone out once or twice and the other says NO but when he calls the other guy out then people go crazy and calls the 1st guy a chump for now not fighting him. Thats ****** and childish to me
