Mayweather may really fight Mosley...
There are a few reasons why I believe Floyd may actually fight Sugar Shane. I know this is hard to believe but allow me to explain myself.
First and foremost, he may fight Shane, simply to outdo Manny, who I'm sure he still fears BTW. But Shane is considered a bigger name and a better fighter than Joshua Clottey.
Second, he knows Shane will accept his demand for OSDT. Again, this will make Manny look bad because Manny didn't wanna play Floyd's game. Shane doesn't really have a choice on this one though; he was previously involved in a PED scandle and Floyd actually has a reason to demand such testing with Shane.
Third, Floyd has some serious face saving to do. The Manny vs Floyd fallout has left Floyd labeled a "DUCK". How better to prove the naysayers wrong than to fight Sugar Shane Mosley.
Fourth, with the Berto fight only a few days away, Shane was probably close to peaking now. Shane's conditioning could be thrown off if Mayweather vs Mosley happens in a month or so. Overtraining could be a possibility. Floyd is aware of this and might just jump at the opportunity to fight Shane now.
Last, a win over Shane could put him on even P4P terms as Manny, depending on how each of their next fights go. This will result in negotiating leverage in future Manny vs Floyd discussions.
Whatever the reasons, I damn sure hope the fight happens. Floyd will get all the respect in the world (from me included) if he fights Shane Mosley. This fight is long overdue.
