New Rumor: Cotto-Berto in June instead of Cotto-Foreman

I have absolutely no proof of this! I just wanted to start a rumor that Yuri Snoreman has been replaced as Miguel Cotto's opponent for his June fight at Madison Square Garden on the weekend surrounding the Puerto Rican Day Parade and celebrations in New York. Compelling reasons? Firstly, I don't think 154 is a good weight for Cotto. Secondly, Foreman is relatively unknown and generally a BORE to watch. And finally, I think the two would make a more compelling match. Both are still recovering from recent personal tragedies, and both are very relevant in the Welterweight division. The winner stands to potentially become the heir apparent once the Mayweather-Mosley-Pacquiao saga plays itself out. I know Bob Arum and Top Rank want two of their fighters matched and all the proceeds to remain "in-house", but Foreman has other options including Martinez, Williams and possibly even Pavlik, and needs time and more efforts besides beating Daniel Santos to get noticed and build more of a fan base.

First rule of a rumor is that YOU DON"T SAY YOU GOT NO PROOF OR SOURCES. It basically kills the rumor if you do.

I'm only hoping the rumor grows into reality, and others will hop on the bandwagon. Growing public sentiment and support of the idea may topple the current, far less popular plan already in place.

Ttally agree man. There are a loadof rumours goign arounf the globe at the minute about possible fights. Until they come out n say the fight is official iits all hearsay. I am waiting for schaefer to start talks betweek mayweather n mosley n make that happen.

Berto by late TKO? I think it would be a close fight, but I think cotto takes it. Hes been in with som eof the best 147 pounders n knpws what hes doing. Id like cotto by Late KO to be honest. Hes been in with judah n mosley, two speedsters, so i think cotto wud handle bertos speed. An intreiging fight, LETS make it happen
