Morales and Cotto aren't even close to even? What was wrong with Morales? Didn't really know of that fight, except for maybe some clips on youtube. Was he old? Was he shot? Cotto is a naturally larger guy, at, or near his prime, and only maybe a couple of pounds under his usual weigh-in weight. I'm guessing there were other fights where it was quite close on paper.
