PBF likely to fight Shane May 1st, Fanhouse reports

Floyd Mayweather is likely to face Shane Mosley on May 1 at a site to be determined, according to a source.

Mayweather (40-0, 25 knockouts), whose scheduled March 13 megabout with Manny Pacquiao (50-3-2, 38 KOs) did not take place due to a drug-testing controversy, is tentatively scheduled to face an opponent to be determined on March 13, likely in Las Vegas.

Andre Berto (25-0, 19 KOs) is scheduled to defend his WBC welterweight (147 pounds) title against the 38-year-old Mosley (46-5, 39 KOs), the WBC super champion, on Jan. 30 in a highly-anticipated clash at at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas.

Neither Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer, nor Mayweather's adviser Leonard Ellerbee of Mayweather Promotions could be reached for comment.

That would be awesome, and it's about time. Crossing my fingers and hoping for this.

Not smart to announce this in a couple days if it is true. Berto's no bum. It's not good for Mosely's camp to be overlooking him if this is the case.

Forgot about that small detail. Well then i guess i'll be wishing for Mosley to win, but i'll take Berto, it's just that there's more story and drama behind Mosley vs Floyd.

That wouldnt give mosley a ton of time to rest up before the next training camp.

Come on yall, you know he doesnt mean even if he loses. He could say the same thing about Pac or whoever and no one would say, "even if he loses". This is a dumb article though. It doesnt even really say nothing and you cant understand it. Does it mean he still is going to fight on March 13th also or not? If you couldnt reach them from comment then who the hell told you this? This is no different from other **** weve heard but if true that he's fighting Mosley on the 1st then great. If he is and wants to keep the March date then no one better hate on him if he fights someone like Campbell. He cant fight a beast and also fight Mosley on May 1st.

I think Berto can beat Mosley but for Floyd's sake I hope Mosley kills him because no one is going to give Floyd the benefit of doubt. Even though he let it be known clearly that he's going to fight Mosley if he wins, everyone will say that he wouldnt have fought him. They will say that he's really deep down glad that Shane lost Then if he tries to fight Berto they will say that he is taking him but wouldve never fought the tougher Shane

Yes, he should fight Mosley, even if Berto wins, so people can shut up about each fighter ducking each other. They have been ducking each other for 10 years! The winner can fight Packy later in the year.

Is Floyd fighting a Tomato can on March and fighting Mosley in May?
