    Mayweather already accomplished his goals???

Like many of you I ask myself, "why won't Mayweather fight the best fighters out there." Is he a *****, coward, or ***** like some of you claim? The answer to this question is no. He is a fighter, warrior, and a great boxer but certainly he has lost that gladiator spirit required of great boxers as himself. Why we all ask? Yesterday as I watched "Pretty Floyd Mayweather Soul of a champion" I got the answer to this question. Roger Mayweather said, "Floyd's dream is to win titles at multiple weight divisions (preferably 5), retire undefeated, and as the greatest boxer who ever lived." I believe that in his mind he has already accomplished what he wanted to accomplish in boxing. He was won titles in as many as 5 different weight classes, and is undefeated. But what about being the greatest boxer who ever lived? Certainly he felt that he would be go down as the greatest after his clash against Ricky Hatton. He retired thinking that in time he would be labeled as such.

he was wrong as an all time great fighter in Manny Pacquiao was brutally moving up the ranks, and into the p4p list. Mayweather is envious of what Pacquiao has done, and of the recognition he has received. So what does he do? He tries to defame Pacquiao's name with utterly bull**** drug testing. Mayweather wants to go down as the greatest boxer who ever lived, but Pacquiao is taking his shine away. So May wants to put these clouds over Pacquiao's name. As a poster here on boxing scene said, "Testing isn't being treated as an "Evil" thing. The Mayweather and Associates are trying to implement this unprecedented drug testing under the veil of fair sportsmanship but in reality, they are planting seeds of su****ion and doubt into the minds of boxing fans in an attempt to destroy the Pacman's credibility as an honest champion of this sport. Their actions are clearly due in part to the extreme jealousy that the Mayweather's have of Pacquiao's successful rise as a Phenom in the sport of boxing. Manny's World Wide popularity and 'Lil Floyd's progressively unfavorable attention in this sport has given Mayweather and Associates the impetus to start this hideous "Smear Campaign" against the "Greatest Fighter" of this generation. What a shame it is to know that people in the boxing business would stoop to such lowly acts of conduct. JAT."

May has accomplished his goals already and I do not believe that he is in the fight game to prove his skills against top opposition. He is in the boxing bussiness at the moment to make the most money without taking much risk. He believes that in time the world will go see within the history books, and see that no other boxer has done what he has, or what he believes places him as the greatest ever.

Great perspective. It could very well be true. Here's my reasons.

As you said, Floyd believes that he reached all his goals already, like the expression says: It's easy to reach the top, the hard part is to stay there. It could very well be that Floyd lost his hunger already, he got kids and a working family, he's probably the superhero of his friends and knowers. He knows what it means if he loses his 0, he is not ******. His whole character is based on the fact that he is undefeated, if he loses that, he might think that he loses everything.

We all know what it means if a fighter loses his hunger, Floyd might be in that place now. He already retired, but apparently he was FORCED back to the sport, because he was broke. Understandable with that flashy lifestyle of his.

What he will realize sooner or later is that if he came back to fight upcomers and no-threats he will lose everything because of himself, he has literally challenged every great champion in the history of boxing and compared himself to the best, so if he backs out of his own talks, people will stamp him as a fraud, even his own fans will eventually turn their back on him.

But it's in the future, Floyd just need a win, then new talks will start, especially if he looks good. It'll add fire to the flame of his fans.

I agree with your post, as he needs to fight someone of high caliber in order to not loose respect from the fans
