my last post in this thread, chups, because i too believe this is a non-issue.

i dont speak visayan and sonsona may have spoken in visayan, then translated into spanish, and google language tooled (!) by the ts.

if he spoke in tagalog (filipino), what i could infer is,

"Isa na naman itong pagkakataon para mapatuyan na mas magaling ang Pilipino (sa larangan ng boksing) kaysa sa mga tiga-Puerto Rico."

It's a nationalistic statement coming from a kid out of his teens. lulz

if we translate that into english, this would be the translation,

"This is again another opportunity to show that Filipinos are more excellent/better than Puerto Ricans (in boxing)."

the kid may or may not be right but I don't see anything offensive about that at all unless someone has issues.

we have more than 170 languages in the Philippines by the way, and Tagalog and Visayan are just two of the more commonly-spoken mother tongues.
