..............available opponent for Floyd Mayweather Jr. for a number of reasons.

1. He offers the most return as a PPV opponent that is available. It is very important that Floyd's PPV numbers in this fight rival Pacquiao/Clottey for future bargaining power. Mosely and Berto are not available. Paul Williams is managed by Al Hayman just like FMJ and Hayman fighters do not fight each other.

2. He can punch like a mule and Floyd Mayweather Jr. needs this to shut up the haters that say he won't fight a puncher.

3. Floyd easily outboxes Cintron and therefore retains his undefeated record for a possible Pacquiao showdown.

There are a lot more reasons but these are the top 3 IMO.

he might as well fight alfonso gomez or gary lockett its over for floyd as a top fighter. he only fights the "best" when the best is a 36 year old journeyman from argentina. wow such longevity at the top. had 2 fights then faded into bolivian where he came from. where as margarito, cotto, pac, williams, and mosely have been around for years fighting the best and floyd won't go near them. he's trying to make the most money without tarnishing the legacy he made before he went soft. the broke ass moron with terrible money management should be in the hall of shame.

With that said, if Floyd was really preparing for a Manny bout down the line,

why not take on the southpaw in Quintana?

I like Quintana better but Cintron is decent I guess...and he is a big WW...

Quintana, Collazo, P. Williams, and Bradley are more interesting than Cintron IMO...

Floyd would eliminate all this criticism if he just waited a couple more months to fight the Berto-Mosley winner. Hell, HBO rejected Cintron as an opponent for Cotto. And as a result, Cotto had to fight Clottey instead. So why not hold Floyd to the same standards even if who's better between Cintron and Clottey is up to debate. I view a Cintron-Clottey fight a little closer then I did after Kermit's performance against Angulo. But I still think Clottey is better.
