Jones was nearly killed by Johnson. Don't you think, considering his age, that the horrific KO will have a serious effect on him ?
I think you'll start seeing Roy going down from glancing blows.

The only fight i think Jones would win is a Toney rematch as he would allow his old body not to be resricted by weight, thus probably increase his speed and punch resistance. He is a fool if he think competing at 175 is a smart idea, its heavyweight or nothing!

agree with you but toney would beat his ass like a drum mate.

Come on people I cant actually belive that after being despatched brutally twice, that folk are still making a case for Jones at light heavy. Ridiculous, Id back clinton woods to beat jones now.

      finis.

Coming back and losing again would be pretty embarassing, so I'm guessing RJJ will be very motivated to avoid that. I think RJJ will be well prepared and will have that fire back and will come out with a comeback victory.

I have a friend who is into boxing but does not really watch it all that religously- he follows the fighters quasi-closely and usually defers to me for my opinions on fights. Now this guy is the worst kind of boxing analyst- he can't see past his own bias. He bet me that De La Hoya would beat Hopkins. He thinks that Barrera easly won all the fights against Morales and would knock him out in a rematch. He claimed that Wladimir Klitschko was still the most deserving heavyweight for a title shot. He said Freitas would easily KO Corrales. He picked Lennox Lewis to lose in every fight he fought in. Now the point of all this is that if he is pointing north, I have learned that it is best to go south. And he says that Roy is going to come out of retirement and KO Tarver and Johnson both within six rounds. What that means is I pick Antonio Tarver to win a pretty close decision against Roy should they fight a third time. Sorry for making you sit through all that.

My friend loves Golota and thinks that aside from Wlad he is the most talented heavyweight around- so I am sure that he had him to win, although I did not talk to him before the fight.

Toney fat and doesnt move that much, Roy would UD him again, Geln Johnson pressed the **** outta Roy, Toney cant do that so that gives Roy the opportunity to do what he does best.

I would like to see Roy face one of the guys beneath those two before he gets a shot at either.
He has to prove he's worthy.

Right now, he'll get smoked by either one, again.

Those who think it's a training/style change issue.....
Are you ignoring the Father Time issue ?
I believe that's what the problem is....& that can't be fixed.

i am not even a big jones fight, He got blown out by tarver. how so we only got to see Round and a half of actions. Jones took the first round. Now if the fight went 8 or 10 rounds then tarver knocked him out thats a blow out. Tarver laned a perfect punch at the right time. It was one Jones never saw and those are the killers. To me the johnson ko was way worst. Going 9 rounds and losing getting beat then koed, Thats bad. 2 round ko by tarver didnt see the punch. If jones fights tarver again he is dumb. U dont just get knocked out twice and jump back into the mix. he needs have a tune up.

Jones should forget about the Lt Heavyweight divsion and return to his home at middleweight and supermiddleweight if it possible for him to make that weight. That is his natural weight. He is overrated as to how dominating he was a Lt Heavy. I think he can have success at middleweight and supermiddle but not above that weight.

                      .
