That's because he wouldn't fight Marquez under 147lbs. After the Mayweather-Marquez fight, he knows he can get him at WW, and not even think about going down to LWW ever again.

JMM was obviously robbed on that fight against CJ.

I believe marquez won the fight. If you consider the fact that Marquez was the champ going into the fight, it was a draw at best if you bend over backwards and score the fight favorably for John. What really stands out was the fact that the Ring was a joke. It was a huge ring allowing John the opportunity to avoid Marquez as much as possible throughout the fight.

I do give Pac props for fighting toe to toe with Marquez. Guys like Gainer, Norwood & John did not want to exchange with JMM. They either tried to hold JMM (Norwood) or continuely move away (Gainer & John) & refused to engage with JMM.

The only guy that has really beaten JMM on my scorecard was Mayweather.

i think JMM should drop the idea of fighting manny, it may just ruin his legacy because manny will kill him. they are not on the same level now, better let the doubt from the boxing fans that once upon a time, he defeated manny (unofficially).

Pacquiao likes to pick his fights ala Mayweather. He also likes to pick the weight he would like to fight a fighter as evidenced by his latest fights. It looks like WW is the weight class where Team Pacquiao & Arum wanted this fight to take place. Furthermore, Roach had been quoted as saying that is where they would fight Marquez if they would ever fight him again. After seeing Marquez vs Mayweather at WW they know that JMM is too old to take on that much weight and remain quick enough to effectively counter.

If Pacquiao would have fought JMM at lightweight instead of David Diaz, he would have had his hands full once agian. He clearly ducked JMM to fight the lesser fighter in order fluff up his titles.

At WW Pacquiao logically should overwhelm him as he is younger thus better suited for moving up in weight while retaining speed/quickness. At any weight lower than WW I still have my doubts taht Pacquiao would Kill JMM (as you stated). JMM usually comes in around 130 -138 range for fights(save the WW fight with Mayweather) making him a possible threat at JR WW/Superlighweight. Of course, as JMM gets older Pacquiao will have the advantage in any weight. Letting JMM get older has always been the stratergy by Team Pacquiao for a possible JMM vs Pacquiao III if you ask me.

you got a good point, i agree with you, your assessment in reality is how boxing business goes. however, do you think the way JMM demands to fight pac will be considered? man, try to recall how the pac-floyd match died. secondly, JMM is not the big draw here. thirdly, i think pac is now comfortable at WW.

i wanna see pac-jmm 3 just like you do, to clear the doubt who the better fighter is. but it seems it will never happen. pac may be thinking that his critics would just say that JMM is old and washed up. no credit at all if he wins. JMM is one of my favorite but he's no longer on his prime.

Unlike Quakuiao JMM fought the top fighters at Lightweight. He KO'd the top rated lightweights when he moved up brother. I have a hard time remembering who Quakuiao fought at lightweight. Was the guy even a top three rated lightweight?
