Pirog vs Ishe Smith Feb 6 WBO Eliminator Apparently

Allboks says Pirog vs Ishe Smith In Moscow Feb 6 for WBO eliminator. Rumours had been that it'd be Macklin vs Pirog but guess not. Found that interesting.

This is an interesting fight for Pirog, I thought the Macklin fight was happening too soon for him. Pirog showed a good workrate in his last fight and it'll come in handy here, he might be able to just outwork Smith to a decision, but Smith will frustrate him for sure and as tymann said, I wouldn't be surprised if Smith managed to pull the upset.

It's an eliminator fight though, Macklin seems to have gotten the screw job and if you're giving it to Smith why not give it to Jacobs?

The UK folks are going to be upset

I'm happy to see Pirog won't be fighting Macklin.

They're both very good, and a fight between them a couple of years from now will be more meaningful. A loss for either up-and-comer at this point wouldn't be good for their careers.

Pirog will likely defeat Smith in a difficult fight, and receive his shot at Pavlik.
