Yes, it should be banned for boxing. It's very dangerous to numb your hands before a fight. You could end up doing more damage in the long run. Bad ****.
Should Xylocaine be banned in Nevada? Poll

From what I read it cant be used within one week of the fight, in Nevada.
Also
De La Hoya was given a shot of Lidocaine the day of the injury to numb the cut area so the stitches could be taken. Lidocaine is a substance banned by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. But Marc Ratner, CEO of the commission, said there is no violation as long as De La Hoya informed the commission when he took it and why.

Fighters have been using this kind of stuff for years. If you ban it you might see some excellent fighters have shorter careers. Ali and Leonard depended on these type of injections to get through their fights.Comment

Good point. I didn't know that. I still think it should be banned. If you can't fight without numbing your hands then that's not good.Comment

What loophole? its not allowed to be used a week within the fight or fight night... Do you people think he uses this during the fight?Comment

Yeah because a) all Mayweather fights are in Vegas *lol* and b) it is already illegal in Nevada... so if he used it he should have a positive test... isn't this also a reasoning why Pacquiao don't have to take the test... because he always tested negative??? I think the rules of the NSAC should get a renowal... but nobody agreed... probably now... and this **** can get a renowal as well...Comment
