By his own admission, White has always been a boxing fan. But he's also a businessman, and was smart enough to model his product by learning from boxing's flaws.

He's certainly toned down his act since last September, sure. But he was a boxing fan (and as pointed out earlier, a boxer) long before that.

There is no reason why they should not coexist. What is wrong with multiple contact sports? I am not really into MMA, but back when UFC first started in the 90's, I really enjoyed the format then. I would love them to have a special maybe once a year for an elimination tournament like the old days.

Red K'd, not so much for this thread but for the last couple you've posted... I'm suspecting you're just a hater, but oh well...

White has been saying for a long time that he loves boxing, but because he's not tied in deeply to the boxing world but is in the world of match making and promoting a similar competition. He can sit back and make some fairly decent observations about what he believes may be problems in the match making and promotions of modern day boxing, whether or not people agree, his comments and observations are from experience.

You can be a boxing fan, and not blindly love all the BS that goes along with it.
