Super Six Stage, who ya got??

AA vs Dirrell- March 6th, 2010

Ward vs Green/Bika- Feb. 5, 2010 on Showtime, winner faces Ward on the same night as Kess-Froch

Kessler vs Froch- April 17th, 2010, Showtime

I think the AA-Dirrell fight will surprise a few people. Abraham had a target that stayed right in front of him in Taylor, but Dirrell will not do that. Dirrell will give him alot of movement, and box him. I think AA has to pressure Dirrell and make him fight, however, Froch didn't seem to hit Dirrell with anything too big that hurt him. AA is bigger puncher than Froch and if he lands clean, Dirrell can be in trouble. Dirrell needs to get a bit more under control and sit down on his shots and fight a whole 12 rounds (if it goes the distance that is). I like Dirrell to win this one in a 12 round decision because I believe he will not make the same mistakes from his fight with Froch.

I think Ward beats the winner of this fight, with his superior boxing skills and determination. But Green-Bika should be a good one. Bika has knocked out his last 4 opponents, and Green is looking for his time to shine. I will call this fight about a week before it happens.

Kessler-Froch, I'm going to go with Kessler, although I have never really been largely impressed by him. Likewise, Froch has not largely impressed me. But these guys are two of the top fighters at this weight and I believe that Kessler will have something to prove come fight night. Neither guy put forth their best performance in Stage One of the tourney, so I honestly see this as being the most competitive fight of this Stage. Froch has been doing some trash talking, so lets see it that will translate into a victory on April 17th.

thanks for the warm welcome back sir!

I think that Bika-Green fight will be very exciting man! I really wouldn't be surprised either way to be completely honest with you sir.

AA will be the bigger puncher than Direll will have faced, but how will AA be able to deal with someone who will box him and not stand right in front of him.

Hopefully Froch can show me a little bit more bro, and Kess for that matter.

All good fights though and I'm looking forward to them.

Abraham (although I am curious about how long Dirrell will be able to frustrate and maybe outbox him with his usual slow start), Ward and Kessler. Seem to be the popular choices so far.

not looking forward to AA Dirrel at all, think it will be horrible to watch. AA doesnt usually do much for the first few rounds, and if Dirrel was scared of getting hit by Froch i can only imagine how much running he will do. Dirrel will be winning on points, it just depends if AA can corner him and catch him with a few good shots or not. If it goes the distance Dirrel will win, but hopefully AA can hurt him for me and KO him.

Froch Kessler will be an absolute war, cant wait for this one. I think Kessler will win by KO about round 10. Will happily be proved wrong though, I like Froch, he's (usually) good to watch.

Dont know much about Green but Bika isnt great. Cant really comment on how Ward will do.

Also i must have missed Taylor pulling out. I knew his promoter didnt want him to continue but never heard until there now that Taylor wasnt taking part.

Agreed, I got Dirrell on points, Froch by late TKO in a bloody barnstormer, and Ward by any means necessary...

Good call.I have the same.I believe people have completely dismissed Mikkel Kessler over his last 2 fights.
First of all,Kessler works best against orthodox fighters with no lateral movement that fight toe to toe.His 2 losses have come against people who are southpaws with fast hands and have movement.Even his fight against Perdermo (which fans say he looked bad,yet he won by ko) was against a southpaw.
Carl Froch is none of these-he is going to go toe to toe and get worked with Kessler's superior jab and right hand.Carl's defense (he keeps his left too low)is going to pay a price unless he can force Mikkel to back up all night, because Kessler is useless fighting on the backfoot.I also believe the key to the win will be Mikkel's jab.He has one of the best and throws brilliant, fast combos.Like the Taylor fight,he can shine if he utilizes it.
I believe Carl has been VERY lucky to keep his belt in his last 2 defenses and he came close to losing it both times. If Taylor would have taken a knee,he would have won,and I still don't believe Dirrell lost (I have watched this fight at least 6 times and had Dirrell ahead by 3 rounds).
I am also in the minority in believing Dirrell is going to cause BIG trouble for Abraham.I don't believe Dirrell will "run" as much in this fight. He will open up a little more than the Froch fight, but still keep distance. If he can make Abraham work,he can score big.Abraham has a very low work-rate and relies on stealing rounds and power-which isn't useful if he cannot tag Andre.I believe Dirrell (with the right gameplan) can frustrate Abraham, make him miss his wide shots, and make him sluggish by the 10th round. I've always wondered if Abraham has his style based on some flaws in his stamina. The guy only fights 30 seconds of every final round. The key could be to keep distance, throw flurries and when Abraham's shell defense moves, get out of the way-make him chase you while moving around him.
Now saying all of this,I DO give Arthur a decent chance-he has a punch that can change everything.I also think this fight is interesting because it may show us how well Andre WARD can deal with Arthur (since they are both switch stance outside fighters).
