    Bundrage Spinks march 6

    By Rick Scharmberg

Cornelius “K-9″ Bundrage (29-4, 17 KOs), of Detroit, Michigan will face IBF junior middleweight champion Cory “The Next Generation” Spinks (37-5, 11 KOs), of St. Louis, Missouri on Saturday, March 6, at a site to be determined, most likely in Las Vegas. Bundrage last fought to a no-contest last June 27 with Yuri Foreman in Atlantic City. Foreman suffered a cut in the third round from an accidental clash of heads, and could not continue. Foreman went on to win the WBA version of the crown with an impressive performance against Daniel Santos. It is only fitting that Bundrage is getting his long-awaited title shot as well.

“Yuri Foreman looked pretty good in his fight against Santos,” said K-9. “He looked pretty sharp, but I have to take some of the credit for that because I was the last one to fight him.”

Bundrage trains at the new Kronk Gym in Detroit under the guidance of Javen “Sugar” Hill. “He is the same trainer that I had when I was on The Contender,” he said.

Ranked number-two in the IBF, with the top spot being vacant, Bundrage credits manager Emanuel Steward for helping him secure his mandatory shot. “Manny helped me by talking to the IBF,” he said. “Darryl Lattimore will fight Sechew Powell for the number one spot, and will become the mandatory for the winner of me and Cory Spinks.”

“The junior welterweights and middleweights are the hottest divisions in boxing right now,” continued K-9. “We’re carrying boxing right now. It’s time for the little people to make some money!”

K-9 Bundrage lives in Detroit with his wife and two young children, sons Daishaun, eight, and two-month-old Omnae.

I like Spinks in this to much movement for k9.

Typical puncher versus slick fighter i want k9 to win cause he seemed like a real good guy on the contender, but sadly i think Spinks takes this 118-110.

I'm not sure how much Spinks has left but I've always appreciated him, should be a good fight!
