  • Comments Thread For: For Vanes Martirosyan, Prime Time Begins This Weekend

By Jake Donovan - In July 2006, a brand new boxing series was presented by Top Rank on Outdoor Life Network (which would later become VERSUS). The evening’s main event saw then-undefeated prospect Kelly Pavlik stop former junior middleweight titlist Bronco McKart in six rounds.

Pavlik would fight once more on the series before graduating to the contender level. He eventually went on to become the World middleweight champion, 14 months after the launching of what would become the VERSUS Fight Night series.

Even with Pavlik going through peaks and valleys over the past year and change, it can still be said that his stay at the top (which is still in progress) outlasted the series, as Top Rank and VERSUS parted ways in 2008.

However long their latest venture (“Top Rank Live”, to run on Fox Sports Español) lasts, there is one fighter in particular - undefeated junior middleweight prospect Vanes “The Nightmare” Martirosysan - who hopes that awaiting him is a similar fate enjoyed by Pavlik, sans the peaks and valleys, of course. kirkland and his glass chin can't withstand the constant boxing skills of vanes. Ever wonder why Kirkland has never faced a technically sound boxer? Just like angulo, they have been matched with moron fighters who come straight forward and play into their styles. The first time either of these two jokers gets in a ring with a boxer with the skills of vanes they will go down... Prime example angulo vs cintron and cintron isn't half the fighter vanes is....

Funny how Kirkland (well, Mandingo Warrior) and hype job are used in the same sentence, yet with a comma as if to separate the two.

Kirkland is the Ike Ibeabuchi of his generation, and Golden Boy will find a way to ruin his career whenever he gets out.

Vanes' only flaw thus far is his level of opposition, but that should take a dramatic turn for the better this year.

Sad but true. Actually, I won't pre-emptively blame GBP. Kirkland's got enough flaws to cause his own downfall.

you can't be serious.. Kirkland himself was the biggest hypejob until he killed his own career...

no need to worry about him for now, he is in good hands somewhere with someone named Bubba watchin over him

              time for Vanes to shine!
