Boxing Fans: How will Pacquiao get through Clottey's defense?

Will he use work rate to win a decision or will he use sheer power to try and get through Clottey's high guard defense and stop him?


What are your thoughts on Clottey's defense, and has Pacquiao ever fought someone with as good a defense as Clottey?


I think Pacquiao will win by outworking Clottey. I don't see Pacquiao landing too many flush shots, he'll win on activity imo.

This is why I find this fight to be interesting. Keep in mind that on fight night there will be about 20 lbs seperating these guys as well. I would be AMAZED if Pacquiao were able to stop Josh Clottey. I think he will win a 8-4 type of decision but this will be a good and entertaining fight.

2. SCREW Larry X - he was a on sided ignorant poster. The boards are better off without him. What did he get banned for? I still remember a thread with me where he put his address out there and challenged me to come to his front door for a fight. He got shot 8 times and it ruined his boxing career and blah blah blah blah.....screw the guy.

The only way Pac can land flush on Josh Clottey is to punch at the same time he's punching. That's the only way. His defense is too tight otherwise. Remember during the Cotto-Clottey telecast when Emmanual Steward kept imploring Cotto to punch with Clottey instead of waiting till he's done?

Anyway, that's how I see Pac landing shots on Bumba Clottey.

angles... pac's going to dissect that turtle defense.. But pac should be 100% for this fight or he might lose.. clottey has underrated handspeed and he can throw fast combos if he decides to.. What i'm most worried here tho is there is a big ass possibility of a major clash of heads.. Clottey leads with that big dome of his and pac lunges in full power frequently.. Pac's team should keep an eye on this..

DC fan, what will Manny need to do to get through Clottey's defense? Will he need to do some body punching? I don't ever remember Pacquio being good at boody punching. What should he do if his punches don't get through, and on top of that Pacquiao can't get through Clottey's punches?


Roach and Pacquiao need to think about this. Imo workrate will do, but what if Clottey somehow neutralizes Pacquiao's workrate? This is an interesting fight.

Pacquiao needs to shoot his uppercut on the inside, work the body, and continue to turn Clottey. I do not think he can stop Clottey though. I think Clottey's chin is too good.

This fight is a mis match bro..Clottey is tailored made.

He struggles to make 147

Hes flat footed

He comes str8 foward and moves in str8 lines

Feather fisted

Left hand dominant

He doesnt give angles

Doesnt move his head

Has terrible stamina.

And has lost every big fight hes had.


Clottey is made to order for Pac.. I expect a through ass beating on Pacs behalf.
