Floyd is one of the great all time fighters, the best fighter now if you ask me, but Sugar Ray Leonard fought the best. He fought Wilfredo Benitez who I believe was undefeated at the time, he fought the seemingly invincible Tommy Hearns who was 32-0 with 30 ko's at the time, he fought Roberto Duran, Marvin Hagler, and others, SRL would have fought Paul Williams, Margarito, Mosley, Cotto, Pacman, whoever, Floyd will never be the true people champion unless he cements his legacy with some notable wins. What do you guys think?
Floyds Great! But He's No Sugar Ray Leonard!

greatness is assessed by the fighters u have beaten...
the circumstances that was occuring when u beat them... (camacho senior has ray leonard & roberto duran in his resume but these 2 were really way past it when camacho beat them...)
then maybe your longevity...
having great skills is purely subjective & misleading... its close to meaningless when u assess greatness man... -
Ray had 15 tough rounds with Benitez and at times had a hard time hitting him with solid punches.
Floyd is a much better athlete than Benitez, much more commited to his training, conditioning, drills in camp. Much quicker, faster with his counterpunching. Its really a huge difference.
Benitez made Ray miss but his hand speed was just marginal when he tried to counter back. Ray threw a lot of out of control over hand right hands in that fight. It was jab, then predictable over hand right which Benitez made him miss but was to slow to counter.
Floyd would do the same, but counter more effectiveComment
