  • Comments Thread For: No Questions Asked: Ouma Focused To Build a New Future

By Lyle Fitzsimmons - It seems a logical line of query.

A former world champion - generally ineffective and largely inactive since losing his title - plans a return to the ring and is penciled in as the first “name” opponent for a young, undefeated hotshot looking to establish himself in the ex-champ’s home division.

“So, Champ,” you begin, “tell me about the last four years. In your view, what’s changed?

“How did it get from world champion to steppingstone in such a short time?”

You sit back, notebook at the ready, and wait for a reply that seems sure to contain equal parts frustration, motivation and redemption while serving as catalyst for an insightful and interesting interview.

Unless, that is… your foil for the session is Kassim Ouma.

Instead, the 31-year-old detours your road to enlightenment with an age-old roadblock.

“I don’t really want to talk about the past. I only care about what’s going on now.

“So, please don’t ask me about anything other than the fight that’s coming up.”

Ouch. Not exactly the open-ended conversation starter you were hoping for, huh? [Click Here To Read More]

Damn, this guy fell off the map a while ago. It will be a good test for Vanes.

fail to see how its a good test. Ouma is now degraded to something in between a stepping stone and a tomato can.
I would be surprised if he lasts more than 3 rd's in this next fight.

Please stop calling the IBO a major sanction organization. Everyone gets on Ring Magazine because there owned by golden boy now but no one says **** about Boxingscene who has a big IBO ad on the front of their main page. This is the only credible website that trys to pump up the IBO. Im not saying anything fishy is going on im just putting that out there. Other than that good article like always.

Their rankings don't seem half bad to me.

Damn this thread has so many posts, it's gonna eventually drown all the Mayweather and Pacquiao threads. This is a hot thread, i'm gonna give it 5 stars.

But all jokes aside, was Jermain Taylor, Ouma's last big name opponent?

And damn his boxrec shows he has lost 4 of his last 5 dating back to 2006.
