According to several sourced in the United Kingdom, an array of boxing trainers are vying for the opportunity to train Manchester’s Ricky Hatton when he returns to the ring. Among those mentioned is Joe Gallagher and the much sought after Freddie Roach of Los Angeles, CA.
According to one theory, the “Hitman” is considering famed Mexican trainer Nacho Beristain for his next chief second. Besides the obvious technical improvements that Beristain could bring to Hatton’s style, the Mancurian would more than likely have to relocate to Mexico City to train with Beristain which would work in Hatton’s favor because of the distractions that are situated in his native city.
It is rumored that Hatton is in the running to face Timothy Bradley, Nathan Campbell, Amir Khan, or Marcos Maidana in his next outing slated for early summer
