Maybe he can fight Michalczewski. About the whole muscle loss, weight loss thing. How come he did good in the first Tarver fight, but the second one, months later he got knocked out with one shot...the time where he was supposedly "on his day"Comment

What are you talking about bro?
Did you see how few punches he threw in the 1st Tarver fight? He was noticably drained and dulled of his reflexes.
There's no doubt that drop in weight when he had no body fat to lose took a toll on him.Comment

I forgot.....you thought Hopkins-DeLaHoya was a great fight. I forgot about your vision problem, Jackie.Comment

but anyway if roy could comeback and beat one of them would be amazing but i dont know if he could do it. i would def watch though.....its too bad, he would have easily beaten either fighter if the fights had taken place 1-3 years earlierComment

Anwyay, I mean, how come he took those shots in the 1st Tarver fight reasonably well, and got knocked unconcious by only one shot in the 2nd fight? I mean during the first fight his body would have been in really bad shape, compared to the second fight, considering how he just lost the weight, he had a tooth ache, etc.
Why is it that in the second Tarver fight, which was months later, allowing him to physically recover, did he collapse from one solid punch? A punch what a he seemed to see coming on top of that.Comment

Don't forget about how old Tarver and Johnson are.
I think the best case senario would be for Tarver to edge Johnson in a tough fight, and then have Roy target Tarver again.
If Roy can get into great shape and have a great camp, I think he'd be cautious enough not to get hit with another BOOM punch, and has a good shot at outpointing Tarver.
I don't like Johnson for him because that agressivness and pace just isn't good for a shop warn Jones.Comment

I think the weight loss thing is only part of the reason for his misfortunes. I think not focusing on his training was the biggest problem. For the Glen Johnson fight, he didn't train for ****.Comment

Tarver stepped in & beat Roy the punch with an excellent shot..Comment

This is pretty obvious stuff.
Tarver didn't land the counter Haymaker in the 1st fight.
In the 1st fight, Jones looked drained and dull. Tarver fought in spurts, and while he did land some good shots, Roy caught a lot on his gloves and saw them coming.
In the 2nd fight, they both unloaded at the same time, and Tarver landed first with a money pucnh right to Jones chin that he didn't see coming.
Tarver knocked Roy out with a flush shot in the 2nd fight, and that's all there was to it.
You seem to be saying Roy looked great in the 1st fight, but that everyone's using the weight loss as an excuse for his KO loss in the 2nd fight.
I don't see that at all.
Jones looked dull and drained in a lackluster 1st fight, and got caught cold in the 2nd fight. That's all there is to it.Comment
