Is Toney going to be promoted by King now? If that is true I am sure Goossen won't be too happy about that. If Toney sold his soul to the devil, any respect I gained for him after Saturday night will be thrown out the window.
So what's the story now!!

Byrd stated it and it was announced at the press conference.
I believe it is a joint promotion, Goosen will act as manager and King will be the promoter type of deal....
Andre Ward is managed the same way Goosen is the promoter and Roy is the manager.
Smart move by Toney, because aside from Rahman he could do farely well against the other heavyweights and even frustrate Rahman.
Good move though for the fact that Byrd doesnt have a fight and these 2 guys want to fight and a summer matchup is possible.
On a side note, Goosen is pretty close with King.Comment

I think that it will be a joint venture since Don King will only have one of his heavyweights fight someone if he has optionsComment

That's terrible. That just proves that there is absolutely no way Don King will allow any of his fighters to fight someone he does not promote without gaining options on them. For him to sit there and lie like a ****ing rat that he never requires options on other fighters is absolutely horse****!! Why does HBO allow this guy to come on the podium and lie like a MOTHER****ER is beyond me.Comment

Originally posted by DoubleKing just got an option for James' next fight, he's not his promoter. Goose still promotes Toney, Goosen and Don King have a deal in place, Goose keeps Toney tho'
King always gets the minimum of 3 fight options....
Toney is co-promoted by King.Comment
