Where did the Term "War" come from

It's definitely "nicer" than "*Insert boxers name*, bomaye!" Not sure why that never caught on...

This thread has potential. People tend to use certain words/phrases without thinking twice about them because they're part of the sport, but I've always wondered where/when certain words/phrases gained popularity in boxing.

Anybody know when the phrase "on his bike" was first used in boxing or around the time people started to use it more?
