Clottey is an exceptional opponent for Pacquiao to meet at welterweight. If Mayweather faces a rated opponent on the same day we will potentially get 2 elite fights on the same night instead of just the 1 (formerly known as Mayweather vs Pacquiao).
Along with Mosley-Berto in a few weeks time, it turns out to be a very commendable first quarter with the top 3 welterweights in the division all scheduled to fight. Imagine all 3 are victorious.. either Mayweather and Pacquiao eventually face each other or one of them might very well fight Mosley.
But even without Mosley, Pacquiao and Mayweather.. Check out some of the other boxers I believe are scheduled to perform in the first 3 months of 2010:
