Great fight and it seems like a natural! I remember years and years ago Cotto saying he wanted Hatton on sky.
Gotta give it to Cotto, reasons - he's better. period.Comment

may as well copy and paste my response in the other thread:
1 year ago i would've said Cotto batters him, but now im not so sure. Cotto got ****ed up by Pac too, and lets not forget he had the brains to run for his life when he got hurt, Hatton done his usual tactic of keep on coming forward no matter what so got finished of much sooner.
Cotto has been in a couple of wars lately, and has taken more punishment that Hatton (in the ring) in the past 18 months-2 years so this fight might just be a case of who has less left in the tank.
Both are come forward aggressive fighters so it should be a good fight. 50-50 to me now though.Comment

Its clear neither man is the force they once were but even if Miguel has slipped further than Ricky (which im not sure he has) then he should still have to much for him, i think he's just a Much better fighter.may as well copy and paste my response in the other thread:

I could see points deductions tho, Hatton is a mauler and Cotto HATES getting in clinches, it could get rough! Cant see Miguel standing for any rough stuff on the inside, he's the stronger man and the puncherComment

yeah Cotto is clearly the better WW and would be favourite. My stating it as a 50/50 was more to do with Hatton getting KTFO in 2 not looking as bad any more concidering Cotto would've been in 5 if he didnt run, and Cotto taking beatings from Marg, Clottley, SSM and Pac.Its clear neither man is the force they once were but even if Miguel has slipped further than Ricky (which im not sure he has) then he should still have to much for him, i think he's just a Much better fighter.

I was amazed in the cotto pac fight, Cotto is one of my faves, never thought i'd see him avoid a fighter in the ring like he did against Pac, Pac may well just have finished him of mentally. He looked like a broken man the more and more that fight went on.
Body punching galore in this fight, it'll not be for the faint hearted, and wont go 12. If Cotto has as much left as he did in the Clottley fight, he wins it by 8 rounds. But there's a good chance he hasnt, and a hungry Hatton may just punish him for it.
The words of a Hatton fan hoping for the best? yep probably is, but not THAT far fetched either.Comment

are you referring to me??..Haha I'm the biggest hatton fan on here n even I gota say if they fite @ 147 cotto ****s him tko 8 ..I agree with snoots tho that couple yrs ago @ 140 hatton woulda made cotto chicken dance in root 2 a Ud..lol @ this guy above me sayin who did hatton beat @ 140 ? like I've stated before..Hatton gets all my respect..and it's nothing against him..but 140lb Cotto beats him..don't categorize me as some kind of fanboy who only watches BIG PPV fights like the first time I've heard of Hatton was against Mayweather..
I did start watching Hatton when he beat Collazo on HBO tho..although it wasn't his best performance and it was at 147 I had to look up some more..and found the Tszyu fight..and yea he wrecked him..and it was a great win..but Tszyu was on his way out..and was pretty much done..nothing like his prime 140lb days
so I'll still count that as a great win tho..so besides Tszyu..who did Hatton beat?..I'm not discrediting..I'm asking to see your opinion..maybe you're seeing something I'm not...
Cotto's Notable wins at 140:
Undefeated Carlos Maussa
Victoriano Sosa (who's only losses were to undefeated Mayweather and undefeated Paul Spadafora)
Undefeated Kelson Pinto (who beat Cotto in the Amateurs)
Lovemore N'dou
Randall Bailey
Demarcus Corley
Muhammed Abdullaev (who beat Cotto in the Amateurs)
Undefeated Paulie Malignaggi
Undefeated Ricardo Torres
that's damn impressive if you ask me..now maybe I don't know much about Hatton's 140 career to make that kind of break down..so if you have the time..enlighten me..Last edited by ..WaRSpencE..; 01-11-2010, 11:55 AM.Comment

I thought Pac might stop Cotto but never just walk him down and beat him up like that, shocking. Yeah Ricky was either gonna win or get KO'd early bells which is what happened so although a KO2 looks Terrible it isnt that bad. But Ricky was about as Knocked out as ive ever seen a man, i mean i thought the guy was dead for a second, i couldnt even beleive how out he was!yeah Cotto is clearly the better WW and would be favourite. I just dont rate Hattons chin, now less than ever and defo not as well at 147. Sounds crazy to say considering i was there the night Zoo was bouncing right hands off his chin to no effect (best night ever btw!) but like Ricky and Billy said they got in before Kostya had fully extend his shots so it looks better for Hatton than it actually was in terms of chin i thinkComment

This is my thought as well, i'm 50-50 on this one, but i'd be willing to throw money on hatton with odds.may as well copy and paste my response in the other thread:
