People will see soon enough, companies and the like don't appreciate being associated with drama or controversy. Atlas is a staple though and won't be fired but forced to publicly apologize as punishment.
BOB ARUM: ESPN will issue an apology

it happens all the time.
depends on how credible espn/atlas think teddy's source is.
if they reevaluate the source's credibility and facts and find it somewhat lacking , they might retract the statement.
no big deal.
all teddy has to say is he thought the source and info was credible at the time.Comment

2npac,
Do you know that there were NOT e-mails?
What it there WERE e-mails, but just not worded as people have interpreted them.
What if the e-mail said:
"pursuant to the testing clause (paragraph 9a) in your proposed (draft) contract, there was no mention of economic penalties or conditions. Should we include a penalty if either fighter were to receive an adverse result on a drug screen? Would there be external disclosure?"
Boom. That is an e-mail that could have been sent, but does not implicate either fighter.
You are looking at this in the most elementary view possible.Comment

How so? A source goes to Tim Smith and Teddy Atlas and says there's emails from Pacs camp asking what the penalties are for a positive result and if it can be kept quiet. There could be an email like you stated but according to the source that's not how it supposedly was worded. Which is why Pacs lawyer felt the need to include it in the lawsuit.Comment

1) What if there's a positive test?
2) Would we disclose it?
It is the same information. Just more business-like/lawyerly.
Without EXACT wording, it is impossible to tell. I can assure you that the wording was changed as it passed from mouth-to-mouth.Comment

BOB ARUM: THAT EMAIL DOES NOT EXIST! ESPN WILL ISSUE APOLOGY
By G. Leon
Moments after returning from Dallas, Texas Bob Arum informed **********.com that Manny Pacquiao will face Joshua Clottey on March 13. The bout will take place at Cowboys Stadium which can seat over 100,000 people, but will be readjusted to 45,000. Arum also informed us that the alleged email Teddy Atlas spoke of on Friday Night fights "does not exist." Arum also stated that ESPN will have to issue an apology for making those remarks without verifying their facts. Full interview to follow, until then, Remember where you heard it first! (8:33 PM ET)
Apology for what?If Atlas friend told him that he seen the emails what does ESPN have to apologize for?Pac is the one that should be apologizing for scamming the public.Comment
